Transformation & Organisational Effectiveness
Case Study One: Transforming Finance to Support Better Decisions
The Challenge
A failed ERP implementation had undermined confidence in reporting and management information.
Our Perspective
The technology itself was not the real problem. The challenge was rebuilding confidence in the information leaders relied upon to run the organisation.
Approach
Reporting, governance and performance measures were redesigned around the decisions leadership actually needed to make.
The Outcome
Finance evolved into a trusted strategic partner by restoring confidence in reporting and governance.
Key Insight
The success of transformation should be measured by better decisions, not better systems.
Facing a similar challenge?
Every organisation is different, but the questions are often remarkably similar.

Case Study Two: Accelerating Decision-Making
The Challenge
In a business with a weekly reporting cycle, key periodic reporting was arriving more than a week after period end close, meaning commercial decisions could not be made with the most relevant data.
Our Perspective
The objective was never to ask people to work harder. It was to redesign the process around the pace at which the organisation actually operated.
Approach
Ownership was clarified, workflows simplified, new processes built and reporting redesigned to improve sequencing and resourcing, thereby reducing bottlenecks and lag, improving quality of work and outputs, and removing duplication of effort and unnecessary review.
The Outcome
Period end close was reduced from 10 days to 4. Leadership received meaningful insight while decisions could still influence performance, and additional resilience was built into workflows.
Key Insight
Organisations become more agile and efficient when processes are designed around decision-making rather than administration or convention.
Case Study Three: Timing Technology Transformation
The Challenge
A business-critical technology migration programme risked delivering an outcome that was not yet fit for purpose, as the technology in question was unproven in the market in question.
Our Perspective
Deadlines matter, but outcomes matter more. Delaying implementation is sometimes the right strategic decision if it creates a significantly better long-term result.
Approach
The implementation timetable was reshaped and supplier relationships nurtured, so that we were invited into the redevelopment of the technology to improve the solution rather than simply delaying deployment.
The Outcome
The organisation implemented a mature platform while avoiding unnecessary operational and commercial risk. The supplier’s technology was better prepared for market and won other business as a result, further strengthening the organisation’s relationship with the supplier.
Key Insight
Successful transformation is defined by the quality of the outcome, not the speed of delivery.
Facing a similar challenge?
Every organisation is different, but the questions are often remarkably similar.
